The City of Hannover has a long tradition in sustainable urban mangement and Local Agenda 21. In particular, the City is engaged in the fields of climate protection and ecological construction, showcased in the eaxmple of the Kronsberg housing area.

Local Agenda 21 

Hannover is well known for its participatory Local Agenda 21 which engages many local stakeholder groups in a network for local sustainability, children, young people, migrants or the elderly - the process is open for the entire community. It builds upon a mixture of measures such as networking, project co-operation, education and public relations.
